With so many shampoo bars now available I am still very much in my “discovery phase” for identifying what might be my all time favourite.
After trying a few shampoo bars from brands I would consider to be “eco-beauty disrupters”, I wanted to try some offerings from some of the more established brands in the market. This led me to checking out Klorane’s shampoo bar offering.
Continuing in my quest to find the ultimate holy grail shampoo bar, my most recent discovery was Love Beauty and Planet’s Coconut water & Mimosa flower volume and bounty shampoo bar.
If there is one thing I have learned about myself on my journey to reduce single use plastic waste, it’s that I am fascinated by shampoo bars. After years of using traditional hair shampoo, it’s still a novelty to me that a solid little bar can properly lather up and cleanser my tresses without leaving them a tangled and claggy mess.
There are so many aspects that can make or break a shampoo bar experience. Does it glide over hair smoothly, or will it contribute to making hair knotty and unmanageable? Will it lather sufficiently, or will it feel like rubbing a pretty useless pebble over my scalp? Will it be easy to keep a grip on or will I find myself chasing it around the shower tray / bathtub and subsequently wasting much of the product?
